Volunteering – Youth
As a young person you have the ability to make meaningful contributions to the community while gaining valuable experience that will help you in the future. Your energy and enthusiasm makes a difference as you get opportunities to get involved in different activities in your community.
Here are some guidelines that will help you get started:
- If you are under 14, you can only volunteer supervised by a parent or guardian
- If you are 14-16, you can volunteer in suitable positions with parental consent
- If you are 16+, you can volunteer without parental consent, some positions may require that you be over the age of nineteen (19+) for background checks
To find volunteer opportunities visit govolunteer and use the advanced search to select positions that are suitable for you.
If you interested in how volunteering can contribute to your Career and Personal Planning (CAPP) contact the CAPP Coordinator in your school, your school is the hub to the community.
